2022. October 1.

In our country, the sales of agricultural machinery are constantly increasing, which also means that there is a demand not only for modern technology, but also for its improvement.

In the mirror of numbers

Eighty percent more equipment and machinery was purchased in the first half of this year than in the same period last year.
Farmers spent HUF 165.5 billion on this.
The purchase of spare parts rose by 22 percent to HUF 42.5 billion.
Purchasing was more in the direction of power machinery, which accounted for 62 percent of the machinery market share, compared to machinery.
Farmers were most likely to buy tractors, which accounted for 34 percent of total sales, while purchases of combine harvesters accounted for 16 percent.

Agricultural machinery is becoming more modern

In the agricultural sector, modern technical equipment is becoming increasingly popular in terms of sales.
Sales of agricultural machinery, equipment and spare parts were still strong last year, but despite the difficulties, this trend is set to continue in 2022.

  1. HUF 127 billion in the first half of the year and HUF 208 billion in the same period this year.

In order to remain competitive and to fully comply with the increasingly stringent standards for food production, continuous modernisation and improvement is still necessary, especially with regard to the development of irrigation.

Catering problems

Unfortunately, there are problems with supply, so planning investments is becoming an increasing problem.
The situation is exacerbated by the fact that prices rise several times in a year and manufacturers cannot meet delivery deadlines.
This also has repercussions on the production of machinery and components.
The war situation creates further uncertainties and it is not easy to plan ahead in such circumstances.
The development of the machinery fleet in the agricultural sector has been facilitated by the tenders to facilitate the transition to precision farming, which has increased demand for sprayers in addition to the tractors and combines already mentioned.
Farmers see and know that they can only make a living by using modern machinery.

The importance of tractors

The basic agricultural machine is the tractor.
In our country, the situation is good in this respect, because farmers can choose from a wide range of tractors to suit their needs and budget.
In the first six months of this year, tractor sales increased significantly, with 502 more tractors sold than in the same period last year.
This means that 1,950 new tractors have already found a new owner, with a total value of HUF 56.2 billion.
The 50-100 HP and 101-140 HP tractors accounted for 27-27% of the sales, with demand for these tractors being more than 40% higher.
But sales of the other types also increased, although not as much.
Sales of tractors in the 141-190 hp category were also up by almost 40 percent, while sales of 191-260 hp tractors rose to 125 percent.
In the top category, tractors over 260 hp, sales were 45 percent higher than the same period last year.

Loading machines

Not only did tractor sales increase, but sales of loaders showed a similar change.
For example, sales of self-propelled tractors increased by 40 percent to 338 units in 2022.
in the first half of 2022 compared to 2021.
the same period in 2021.
Telescopic handlers continue to top the sales list.
However, it is interesting to note that while almost all machines and equipment sold in higher volumes, demand for the articulated front loader fell by 28 percent, while 371 units of the tractor-mounted version were purchased, up 100 units compared to the base period.
Sales of skid-steer loaders increased the most, with a doubling of sales.
Sales of combine harvesters generated HUF 14.8 billion more revenue this year than in the same period last year, an increase of 101 units.
It is interesting to note that, at the same time, the purchase of maize harvesting adapters has fallen by a fifth, but the same number of sunflower harvesting adapters have been sold this year as last year.

Machinery in agriculture

Demand was strongest for tillers, which sold 15 percent more in the first two quarters of this year than in 2021.
a total of 2,783 units.
Within tillage equipment, the best-selling machines were seedbed makers, stalk cultivators and row cultivators.
Demand for irrigation equipment increased strongly, with 536 solid fertiliser spreaders sold, up 66 per cent on the same period last year, while sales of seed drills were also 35 per cent higher than in the first half of last year.
